This post includes links to the Airbnb we stayed at in the Poconos and details of our trip to the Pocono Mountains.
For my birthday this year my fiancé treated me with a trip to the Poconos with a stay at the cutest cabin! This was our first time traveling to the Pocono Mountains.
On a late Friday night in January, we piled the kids and pup in the car and drove through winding darkness covered with fog up to the Pocono Mountains. We headed to Pocono Pines about 2 and a half hours away from Philadelphia. Short road trips are always a fun way to get out of the city!
We were so excited to pull up to the chicest Chalet. I love a good “triangle” house. It fits perfectly with the fun theme of being in the Poconos in the winter. It was much colder than in the city and snow was on the ground!
The cabin has three bedrooms. The girls stayed in the bedroom with the bunkbeds of course because they love bunkbeds. Next to their bedroom was another bedroom with a full bed and lastly a master “suite” upstairs in a spacious loft area. The girls were so excited to stay in bunk beds!

The cabin had the most adorable kitchen with a window I could watch the kids playing in the snow and a nice sliding door that opened to a small yard filled with tress. I loved the brass pans and cups hanging on the brick in the kitchen. The kitchen had an electric stove, no dishwasher and no microwave just to note for your needs. We made plenty of hearty meals in the cabin!

The sliding door was great as it had a long dog rope we could hook Theo up to and he could go out by himself and explore. The front yard led down to a fire pit with many chairs. I could also see this being a great place to enjoy the outdoors in the summer time.
The cabin was located int he Lake Naomi area of Pocono Pines.
What the cabin did have was a large fireplace that we used many times and of course we made s’mores. We went into “town” to find firewood to buy. We spent $40 for two flats of wood and kept the fire going. Extra marshmallows were kept in the cabin kitchen. We might have had s’mores all day, every day 😉
No TV at the cabin was a much needed break! We brought along a favorite puzzle which has been our new favorite quarantine hobby and the girls went outside to build snowman as much as possible. Living in a bit of a concert jungle it was nice to explore. The lakes weren’t frozen during our trip but we did have snow! When it snowed in the Pocono Mountains it was beautiful!

A few things to note:
**One note if you do stay at this Airbnb, you have to bring your own sheets and towels. We didn’t realize this until we were already on the way so we stopped to buy some sheet sets and a few towels.
*Another thing to note is the house contained much taxidermy. We were not expecting it to be so lifelike from the photos but if you’re sensitive to that this is probably not the place for you. It definitely went along with the theme!
The Poconos Mountains cover a vast area but you can get to many great places under 2 hours.
We loved Pocono Pines. People also love Jim Thorpe!
Temps can vary but between 30 degrees and below zero is the average January temperature depending on how far up the mountains you go.
